August 18, 2025 — Today marks an exciting milestone for Florida’s housing community: the official launch of the Hometown Heroes Housing Program (HTH). With fresh funding, expanded eligibility, and thousands of trained lender partners ready to serve, the program is poised to make homeownership possible for even more of Florida’s frontline workers.
A Statewide Celebration
From teachers and healthcare workers to firefighters, veterans, and law enforcement officers, Florida’s frontline workers keep our communities strong. Now, through HTH, more of these hometown heroes will have the chance to build stability and equity through homeownership.
As the Program Administrator, eHousingPlus (eHP) is proud to support Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC) and the many stakeholders who worked tirelessly to make this launch a success. Together, we’re opening doors—literally—for thousands of first-time homebuyers across the state.
What Homebuyers Need to Know
If you’re a first-time homebuyer in Florida and fall into one of the approved occupational categories, this program could be your path to homeownership.
✅ Downpayment Assistance – 5% of your loan amount, with a minimum of $10,000 and a maximum of $35,000.
✅ Participating Lenders – Work with approved lenders across Florida who are ready to guide you through the process.

What Lenders Need to Know
Behind the scenes, over 2,000 lending professionals have been trained by eHousingPlus in preparation for launch. With on-demand training, an updated occupational checklist, and marketing materials, participating lenders are equipped with the tools to serve borrowers with confidence.
